I finally got out to do the 3 mile loop at Memorial Park today. DAYUM I forget there's a significance to running outside vs. the treadmill. I was out there at 6:45 a.m. and still the humidity almost melted my face. I have never been more thankful to have decided NOT to run the Chicago Marathon again this year. Otherwise, I'd be in marathon training mode right now, in the height of the summer heat.
Another thing I've learned recently is to take care of my knees. After seeing Adam's mom's recovery from her knee replacement this weekend, I've deffo made it a point to work my quads and hamstrings more. And do core exercises.
I can't run in the morning tomorrow because I have to take the Versa into the Nissan dealership. Yes, I'm taking the BRAND NEW CAR in to get serviced because we think something is wrong with the fuel pump or something. I'm completely dumb when it comes to cars, unfortunately. The car runs just fine, just something weird is going on during start-up. Blah. I'll have to go out there in the evening, after it cools off a little.
Only a few more days until I'm off to Chicago for the July 19th Umphrey's McGee/STS9 show at the Charter 1 Pavillion/House of Blues. I am SO PUMPED to see two of my favorite bands in the same night. Then off to 10,000 Lakes the next Tuesday. Then hopefully starting a job... someday...
